Internal Auditor - The Role

As a member of our Internal Audit team you will help us accomplish organisational objectives by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Day-to-day you will plan, organise and carry out audit reviews as well as communicate results and make suggestions to improve controls and add value to the organisation’s processes. You will carry out fraud investigations in line with our fraud response plan, conforming to International Internal Audit Standards. Important also will be the ability to advise managers on systems of internal control.

Internal Auditor - Requirements

You will be AAT and Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors qualified or part qualified CCAB or equivalent as well as experienced in undertaking internal audit reviews. You will have a good understanding of risk based internal auditing of both financial and non-financial systems, ideally within the not for profit sector too. You will also be comfortable analysing and synthesising complex information to provide impactful audit advice on risk management and control.

As well as the above, you will possess good communication and negotiation skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and the flexibility to travel internationally for work for one week per year.

Who are we?

WWF believes in a future where people and nature thrive.

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action - tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
