ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT/CREDIT CONTROL - 18-23Kpa (doe) - BASED SUTTON COLDFIELD

Greenwellgleeson is recruiting a Accounts Assistant/Credit Contoller with the versatilty to support finance in a wider role, Credit control will be about building relationships and becoming a point of contact, our client is also looking for candidates that are capable of supporting other areas of finance and accountancy.

Responsibility for credit control and chasing debt across all group companies, including:

  • Ensuring customers pay on time;

  • Dealing with internal queries about payments;

  • Ensuring that supply of data is monitored where there is doubt over recoverability of receivables;

  • Proposing write-off of irrecoverable receivables;

  • Negotiating re-payment plans; and

  • Developing the credit management capability of the business.

In addition, providing administrative assistance to the finance team, which may include:

  • Sorting incoming and outgoing post daily;

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date digital and physical records;

  • Banking of cheques;

  • Processing invoices, expense claims and requests for payment;

  • Providing assistance in the monthly management accounts and annual auditing processes; and

  • Other administrative tasks as required.

Experience of credit control highly desirable; experience of working in an accounts office essential. Must be able to use the Microsoft Office suite to a reasonable standard; experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting software would also be advantageous. Good communication skills required as this is a customer-facing role that also requires working closely with sales agents, as well as the rest of the finance team. Excellent organisational skills required, along with the ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records.
