Newcross Healthcare is seeking professional, dedicated and experienced Learning DisabilitiesSupport Workers with experience in British Sign Language and/or Makaton who can offer commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to our clients with learning disabilities in the Bath area of Somerset.

It's essential you are as confident delivering personal care as you are enabling an individual to undertake the activities in life they desire. You should have a mindful approach of protecting the dignity of the individual and promoting their independence at all times.

Our person centred service is designed to enable the service users to interact with their families and also the local community, enabling them to maximise their independence and live fulfilling lives. You will have a conscientious and dedicated approach, putting the needs and welfare of the client at the center of all you do.

Your Local Branch

Your local branch is based in Bath, a short walk from the local train station and the renowned Roman Baths. We cover a wide area, ranging from Eastern Somerset regions such as Glastonbury and Wells, over to Trowbridge, Warminster and of course the local city areas of Bath.

The Requirements
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months' previous paid experience working in a support worker role in a learning disability setting in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • Experience with Basic Sign Language is desirable for this role.

You should be willing to travel within the local areas to reach client locations, with access to your own vehicle desirable.
