Job Description Summary

This is an exciting time to join Lonza Plc as we have been growing globally through three acquisitions during 2017 to reach c15,000 colleagues worldwide. The Slough site plays a significant part in that success story.

We are are a significant and respected player in the contract manufacture of antibodies and proteins for our commercial pharmaceutical customers to take to clinical trials and then to patient treatments. We employ great brains and we need them to stay that way – that’s your job!

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to add their expertise and talent to our HR team at Slough.

As a L&D Manager your primary responsibility will be to improve employee engagement and retention by co-ordinating, developing and delivering learning and development interventions ensuring alignment with the site strategy and EMEA Talent Development strategy.

Key responsibilities: Plan and communicate the annual site training calendarReview Individual Development Plan data, liaise with key stakeholders and talent management team and ensure that offerings match requirements and budgetWork with the Talent Development Manager and HRBPs to ensure solutions are suggested for the development of HiPotentials and succession candidatesDevelop and deliver specific training courses / programmes and manage third party suppliersLiaise with Recruitment to develop and extend our talent pipeline into appropriate universities and local schools

What we need you to have:

Degree (or equivalent) plus some other post graduate qualification (preferred area of study is Learning & development / Psychology)Experience of co-ordinating L&D plans against organisational requirementsSignificant experience in delivering training with a track record of working with senior managersCertification in at least one personality / psychometric profiling tool and proficiency at coaching to support development conversationsDemonstrable knowledge of the theory of adult learning and motivation and how to apply in a practical contextAbility to conduct a training needs assessment (TNA) and evaluate learning interventions, understanding the key levers for employee engagementThe ability to facilitate discussions to reach conclusions / decisions and the skill to coach at middle / senior management levelEnergy and a ‘can do’ attitude to learning with a passion for people development We offer Competive salary and car allowanceGood pension with varying levels of employer contributionFlexible workingLife cover and healthcare option
