Maintenance Engineer

Are you looking for a Maintenance role within a well-established and friendly company who can support development? The company I am working with have a great atmosphere and environment across the business, with many of their staff staying well beyond 20 years, the average tenure being 17 years.

This business are now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team in a role that would be perfectly suited to someone looking to gain further experience within Maintenance, or equally someone who has plenty of experience and just looking for a varied role.

Based in Derbyshire, this is a large business specialising in a specific type of Packaging but they also have a global presence offering alternative solutions for the wider Packaging industry.

Working within the Maintenance Department, your role will predominantly be a days based Monday to Friday position and you will have a variety of responsibilities including:

- Promoting Health and Safety throughout the site whenever possible, setting an example for other employees to follow.
- Offering both Electrical and Mechanical Support to Maintenance Engineers on Shift.
- Contributing to both Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance.
- Covering Maintenance Engineers on their Shift should they not be working.
- Assisting with projects run on site to improve the efficiency of Production.
- Taking responsibility for spares, stock taking, locating and purchasing if necessary.
- Liaising with the suppliers of machinery on site to discuss improvements and maintenance issues.
- Facilitating on site contractors; running them through inductions and ensuring they’re adhering to site guidelines.

For this role, you should have a recognised Electrical Qualification in an Engineering Discipline due to the nature of some of the work you will be undertaking.

You should therefore also be confident with basic fault finding on Electrical systems and also Mechanical systems too.

You will also be a strong believer and promoter in Health and Safety, and put this at the forefront of actions on site, whether this is in the office or on the shop floor.

You will be someone who can work both independently and as part of a team and be able to take on the responsibility to manage your own workload throughout the day.

You should be confident speaking with a range of different people, both internally and externally.

There will also be a degree of flexibility to this role in terms of shit patterns, with the occasional need to cover nights and weekends.
