Drainage Quality Technician

Our Developer Services team has a permanent opportunity for a customer focused Drainage Technician to join our team across Bedfordshire. Reporting to the Drainage Support Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring all new Anglian Water assets are delivered to the required specification while building excellent customer relationships.
A large part of the role will be ensuring that all internal and external customers receive excellent service, whilst checking that contractor's work is in accordance with approved plans & meets the quality standards required for adoption. Prioritisation skills will benefit you in the efficient monitoring of construction across numerous sites. You will also be expected to advise on technical aspects of build over's, diversions, highway diversions and sewer connections while maintaining accurate site records
Customer service is a vital part of this role so you will have a proven ability to build strong relationships with customers at all levels. In addition be educated to BTEC ONC (Civils) level or equivalent. Ideally you will have a good working knowledge of sewerage systems design and operation and an understanding of Sewerage Law and Health and Safety legislation.
Previous experience in the "Sewers for Adoption" specifications would also be advantageous to enable you to effectively advise on technical aspects of Build Overs, Diversions, Highway Diversions and sewer connections. We would also consider your application if you come from a similar role in construction.
You should have excellent communication and influencing skills and be able to deal with internal and external customers at all levels, whilst maintaining a flexible approach to your work. Ideally you will be confined space trained and a permit writer although not essential. A company vehicle will be provided with this role therefore the status of your driving licence will be checked.
