Actuarial Assistant (With Profits Valuation Team)

Working with Prudential as an Actuarial Assistant in helping customers

You will be joining a Finance function focused around our 4 key aims –
Financial Strength, Commerciality, Agility and Operational Excellence.

The successful candidate will contribute to a small team made up of
qualified actuaries, actuarial technicians and trainees to produce with-profits
results. Key responsibilities of the role include the production of
internal and external financial results for Solvency II, EEV and IFRS reporting
across a range of Prudential’s products including unitised with-profits (UWP)
and conventional with-profits (CWP) business.

You will also provide support to a variety of projects across the group,
helping Prudential to react and respond to the key challenges facing the
business

Experience

  • Some experience of
    developing relationships with key contacts across the Finance team(s) and
    understanding of how sub-functions within Finance are structured and
    aligned
  • Some experience of gathering
    financial information and of creating routine technical communication
    materials (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations,
    messages)
  • Some experience of
    presenting financial information and sharing findings and results,
    building an understanding of audience specific communication requirements
  • Some experience of assisting
    the clear articulation and dissemination of quality information to
    internal and external stakeholders including regulators and rating
    agencies
  • Experience of asking the
    right questions and listening effectively to gain an understanding of stakeholders’
    needs and expectations
  • Basic knowledge of
    Prudential products, systems and distribution methods
  • Understanding of the
    Statements of Principle and Code of Practice
  • An understanding of
    financial statements and the key data included in P&L, Capital,
    Shareholder and Balance Sheet activities
  • knowledge of life and
    pensions products, markets and competitors
  • knowledge of financial
    services regulatory and legislative frameworks
  • Knowledge and experience of
    microsoft office packages eg. Excel
  • Working knowledge of new
    developments in actuarial field and the impact on own work
  • Working knowledge of Unit
    linked and With Profits (+others as relevant)
  • Understanding of the impacts
    associated with the external business environment, the associated risks
    and how these can be managed

Note that this is a trainee actuary role which will come with study
support.
