Main Duties & Responsibilities: Take the lead in ensuring that all aspects of service transition projects are driven through to delivery; Design, implement & maintain robust transition plan(s) taking into consideration any business activities required to integrate new services into the 'business as usual' environment; Engage with all suppliers as required to complete production and approval of all service transition documentation; Determine the readiness levels of the department and exiting incoming suppliers and business users with regard to upcoming changes; Uncover readiness gaps and own action plans to close the gaps prior to go-live; Assess risks inherent in proposed transitions, to ensure any potential scheduling and performance issues have minimum impact on provision of other services; Ensure all relevant department functions are fully engaged in the process and committed to supply resources to complete the transition plan; First point of escalation for any issues or problems raised by the suppliers or business; Arbitrate in situations of conflict; Seek out and tackle issues that will prevent the delivery of business benefits linked to service transition.

ITIL v3 foundation qualification

• Experience of creating and implementing service transition framework within a large scale organisation including the definition and implementation of policies, processes with experience of project methodologies such as Agile, PRINCE2

• Proven ability to shape and change processes

• Ability to grasp technical information quickly and challenge against service design principles and artefacts

• Experience working closely with the Project managers and third parties to ensure appropriate service scope is established

• Industry experience in managing service testing and validation, configuration management, release and deployment, knowledge management and change management

• Comprehensive knowledge of Service Transition Management and its role in the IT Development life cycle including knowledge and experience of release management disciplines and approaches

• Experience of implementing, managing and supporting services that are aligned to the business strategy and operational requirements

• Ability to work in a disciplined environment under pressure to meet challenging objectives and timescales

• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project & Visio Requirements

• ITIL Intermediate

• Knowledge and experience of IT/IS testing disciplines and management.

• Technologies and solutions - demonstrable experience and capability across projects and service lifecycle e.g. application support and management, project management, solutions architecture

• Knowledge of Information Lifecycle Management frameworks, technologies and solutions

• Manage Risk management registers effectively

• Experience of Agile project methodologies
