Senior AML/FCC Analyst
This role is for a key team within the Bank, Compliance department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the Bank adheres and complies with policies, procedures and regulations relating to know your customer, anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing and AB&C.
The Compliance Team will be staffed by differing levels of subject matter experts, who are cross trained in all areas of the Financial Crime Compliance, specifically client onboarding risk reviews, account opening, ongoing client periodic reviews, AB&C and fraud, as well as a broad understanding of the responsibilities of the transaction monitoring and client screening processes.
The desired Analyst will be an industry SME with at least two years relevant experience.They will be expected to utilise their knowledge and experience in the day to day operations of the on-boarding team. Supporting the less experienced analysts within the team in a positive manner with guidance and sharing your knowledge and experience is a core function of the role.
You will be supported by and work closely with the Head of Financial Crime Compliance and also have access to and additional support from the Head of Compliance UK and the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). Working within the FCC Team within this private bank is a highly challenging yet rewarding role.
You will be reviewing highly complex clients and their business activities against the context of the UK and Swiss Financial Sector Regulatory environments, with a particular focus on the Russian and CIS markets.
You will investigate both prospect and existing client's activity, and follow through any issues to a satisfactory outcome. This may involve liaising with the Relationship Officers and senior management within the Bank.
You will be expected to produce comprehensive written reports about clients that can be clearly read and understood by senior management, Relationship Managers, Auditors and the Regulators. These reports should demonstrate the risks associated with a client and their proposed risk classification.
The FCC Team also review account opening documentation prior to a new account being opened so the Senior Analysts will be expected to provide Quality Checking oversight to both client risk reviews and account opening documentation relating to KYC.
Conduct reviews of new prospects and existing clients, assessing the risk profile and KYC documentation, resolving any issues found by liaising with the Front Office, Line Management and Senior Management where necessary.
Management of BAU workflows, including the review of new client proposals, account opening, periodic reviews and changes to accounts, providing Quality Checking oversight.
To support the Head of Financial Crime Compliance in the management of all financial crime compliance issues. To assist the business as and when required on financial crime related queries, by providing advice and guidance, outlining options and recommending solutions as appropriate.
To assist in the review and update of department procedures and drive system and process improvements.To lead or assist with any other regulatory tasks or ad hoc projects as might reasonably be requested by Line Management or the MLRO.
To ensure that Management information is kept up to date and complied where necessary. To assist with any other regulatory tasks as might reasonably be requested by the Financial Crime Compliance Manager.
The ability to write clear, professional reports is essential to the role. You will have an analytical mentality suited to the role of an investigator, with the ability to research and investigate and assimilate data from various information sources and draw meaningful conclusions from the information obtained.
To apply you must have two plus years experience in On boarding, KYC, Periodic Reviews Experience in UK Banking sector ICA or equivalent qualification preferred, degree educated, expertise in relevant jurisdiction - Middle East, Russia/CIS, China, offshore, understanding of complex structures, trusts Compliance related qualifications desirable
A passion for investigation with excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey your findings. Ability to work autonomously, taking ownership of your responsibilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to converse with all levels of personnel with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.
As a strong team player, support team members and know when to seek support and guidance from colleagues in order to contribute to the day to day activities of the department. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently when required to do so. We have a permanent role and a contract role for twelve months.
