Technical Author / Evangelist PHP
Salary: Up to £55,000 (Dependant on experience)
Location: Leicester

Introduction

After marking their stamp in their industry, if not leading it, my client has excitingly opened multiple roles as they look to start this year how they left last year…absolutely flying! They use unconventional technology, recruit excellent and driven people who are self-motivated and tech obsessed, which has allowed them to succeed not only nationally, but internationally - so much so that they have attracted the attention of big investors.

Responsibilities

As key influencer, you will be working as part of the product and development teams and will be responsible for technical communication of my client’s platform to external parties, whilst also supporting various company products and supporting systems. This is a varied role with a mixture of hands on Technical Authoring, Development of code examples, and communications.
You will be involved with a multitude of projects, and will take ownership of projects giving clear visibility of my client’s technical offerings to external parties.
Documentation you’ll write will include user guides, technical API documentation, technical blog posts and extensive How-To Guides.

Responsibilities also include:

• Collaborate closely with the product and development teams to create a world-class communications experience for our customers
• You will thrive in this role if you are pro-active and enjoy working in a fast-paced and versatile environment.

Requirements:

• In-depth Development experience, developing complex systems with a wide variety of development languages.

• You'll be well-versed across many programming languages and technologies, including but not limited to: C#, .Net AWS, Lambda, JSON, Python, Mobile Technologies, Git, Jenkins, PHP, HTML, JavaScript/JQuery, AJAX, Angular. JS and CSS - and always interested to learn more.

• Solid understanding of OO Principles and Best Practices

• Experience in a range of Database and storage technologies.

• Experience in working with web based software systems, APIs (REST and SOAP) and experience with software integrations

• You will have strong numeracy and literacy skills, methodical, innovative, take initiative and work collaboratively within a team

The Ideal candidate:

• Will take responsibility for our often-unstructured issues, as well as tasks that are less defined, requiring new perspectives and creative approaches. You will apply your experience and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation. You will also need to demonstrate good problem-solving skills, as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.

• Will have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal and will be experienced in the creation of Development Documentation intended for internal and external audiences.

• Experience working within a Software Development environment.
