THE CLIENT: Our client are a leading manufacturer of aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling for the commercial and residential market.

THE ROLE: Technical Engineer - Aluminium & Steel Fenestration Systems

To provide our clients customers with technical support and training, to achieve high quality and cost-effective fabrications with their products and systems.

Key Tasks

  • Train customers in the manufacture of our clients aluminium and steel systems, based upon order manuals, fabrication drawings and the guidelines and recommendations relating to the specific system being trained.
  • Undertake site inspections of systems installed by the fabricator and identify any issues to be resolved or changed based upon the inspection of the installation, followed up by providing a detailed report for the fabricators records.
  • Undertake customer factory surveys with focus given to optimising space and maximising the workflow of material through manufacturing.
  • Assist the fabricator in the operation of new machinery ensuring it is fully commissioned and that the user(s) are trained in its operation and maintenance.
  • Supply after-sales support and assist customers with any problems/queries on machinery during the warranty period.
  • Assist the quality department in the investigation of complaints and produce detailed and illustrated reports.
  • Provide an installation service for the fixing of systems into customer’s properties. This can also include rectification to existing installations.


Role will include site visits; a Full UK Driving Licence is required.


  • Proven experience of the manufacturing and installation of fenestration products
  • Fabrication experience of leading fenestration systems, including that of site installation.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent team work skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Engineering qualification
  • Must live close to or within designated geographical area
  • Must have a valid UK driving licence.
