Hotel Rates Executive

Gerrard McCall are recruiting on behalf of an award-winning hotel review and booking website, specialising in beautiful boutique hotels, B&Bs and rentals across 50 countries.

Currently seeking a highly numerate and organised Rates Executive with experience in hotel or revenue management and/or back-office reservation systems. You will help to ensure that all rates and offers are up-to-date and competitive across the portfolio of 1,500 handpicked hotels worldwide.

The role:

  • Creating and supervising connections with hotels and accommodation providers
  • Using excellent interpersonal skills, keep on top of all rates and special offers ensuring the best deals at all times
  • Managing the ongoing communication with suppliers, negotiation of deals and resolution of any problems or queries
  • Being proactive and keeping an eye on the finer details with rates and offers, and taking the initiative with pushing things forward if progress stalls
  • Manually loading rates and offers
  • Liaising effectively with hotel partners and the internal IT department with any problems or updates, using both emails and phone calls
  • You will be part of a small but dynamic team, reporting to the Rates Manager and also working with the Bookings and Editorial teams

Requirements:

  • Previously experience in a bookings environment, in a hotel or tourism company
  • Commercially minded with knowledge of revenue management
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Highly proactive and able to prioritise effectively
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to manage a conversation confidently
  • Ability to resolve issues, excellent problem solving and calm under pressure
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Enthusiasm for the tourism industry
  • Second language is a bonus but not essential
