Athwal Resourcing is currently recruiting for an Accounts Office Manager with a 'can do' attitude on behalf of an established SME business. The business has grown significantly organically and is in need of a hands-on Accounts Office Manager who can carry out the bookkeeping duties and support the day to day running of the business.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be:

  • Taking responsibility for credit control and purchase ledger, payroll and Tax returns including VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, ensuring timely payment and accuracy;
  • Producing monthly management reporting with full P+L and Balance sheet responsibilities including KPI reporting and variance analysis;
  • Involved with bank and cashflow, setting up payments, completing monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring working capital and cashflow is monitored;
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers and responding to queries and resolving issues regarding payments;
  • Managing the weekly and monthly payroll with all associated tasks - pensions, tracking employee absence and sickness;
  • Maintain the integrity of the financial ledgers;
  • VAT returns;
  • Working closely with the directors and operations to ensure that financial best practice is adopted across the business, ensuring compliance within internal and external controls
  • Ad hoc reporting.

The successful candidate will:

  • Ideally AAT qualified, or qualified by experience;
  • Solid experience in bookkeeping and capable of delivering management accounts and working with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ideally from a manufacturing background;
  • Enthusiastic and organised individual to manage supplier and multi - stakeholders relationships;
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of SAGE would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will be hands on but commercial in their outlook.
