This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director with experience of, and a real passion for, leading a Manchester-based building-surveying team. You will have a wide range of valuable management skills and experience, which consists of both technical and commercial knowhow.

As an associate director of building surveying, you will be expected to support and grow the existing team, working closely with the firm’s Regional Director. This is a management and client-facing role, and you will be expected to handle an operational business from a P+L perspective, as well as developing new clients, winning tenders, and playing an active part on the leadership of projects.

The role

You will be responsible for leading, driving, and growing an established building-surveying business across Greater Manchester. You will proactively contribute to the development of the company’s client base, while supporting and developing a culture of cross-discipline working. You’ll also foster and maintain business relationships, set and manage client expectations, and agree fee schedules and commercial terms.

You will design a plan for the team, including exploiting existing relationships alongside of exploring key business development opportunities, and be a proven 'work winner’. The chosen surveyor will also advance leading-edge solutions, maximise technical quality and efficiency, and achieve project revenue targets.

About you

A proven team leader, you will be qualified to degree level, with appropriate professional memberships and relevant industry experience at a senior level. With a background in successfully running substantial projects from inception to completion, you will possess the ability to write fee and project bids, and perform effectively at tender interviews.

The ideal candidate will have recognised management experience, the ability to lead other professionals, both internally and externally, as well as assistants, and be able to collaborate and influence other team members and clients.
