A great opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to work in a small but busy finance department within the Manufacturing/Distribution Industry, based in South Manchester.

You will be reporting directly into the Finance Director, were you will manage and control the Sales/Purchase ledger, processing and paying purchase invoices and completing supplier statement reconciliation as well support the Finance team.

Key aspects of the role will include:
• Monitoring the Purchase Ledger with prompt resolution of queries on outstanding invoices and tidying of unallocated entries
• Dealing with of all sales invoices
• Accurate processing of all sales credit memos
• Ensuring that the correct purchase orders are quoted on invoices
• processing expense purchase invoices
• Daily download of GBP bank account to spreadsheet.
• Responsible for administering Petty Cash.
• Monthly reconciliation of supplier accounts
• Reconciling the sterling Current Account at month end

Required Experience/Skills:

• Previous experience of working in a Finance department with a thorough knowledge of accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures
• Competence in Microsoft Office Products, in particular Excel
• Ability to reconcile accounts and have excellent attention to detail Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong problem solving and resolution skills
• High standard of numeracy
• Good team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn
• A self-starter who is pro-active and can set and achieve goals
