Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead the Marketing Team and develop and implement the marketing strategic direction, in collaboration with the Board, with the aim of building on business goals, generating revenue and building brand awareness.

Key Responsibilities

? Define, in collaboration with the Board, the company marketing strategy in alignment with the overall growth strategy
? Define specific strategies for areas including but not limited to: branding, target markets and customers, marketing mix, promotion and positioning
? Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create marketing plans for key business units, demonstrating how and when the company’s marketing activities will be delivered
? Design and develop research methodologies, to deliver insights into target markets, industries, competitors and customers to inform company strategy and marketing planning
? Oversee the Marketing Manager’s organisation and implementation of marketing research programmes, guiding the analysis of data and presentation of conclusions
? Support the Marketing Manager and Executive in the delivery of marketing tactics in accordance with marketing plans
? Shape and lead the Marketing function for the business which the Marketing Manager will manage on a day-to-day basis
? People-manage the Marketing Manager and develop a long-term Marketing Team succession plan
? Identify and design marketing processes and the marketing interface with other functions to contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the business
? Design a reporting suite of metrics; to gather and communicate management information and report on marketing performance
? Develop, in collaboration with the Financial Director, and approve Marketing budgets

? University education or equivalent industry experience
? A minimum of 7 years experience in a relevant business environment
? Strong demonstrable copywriting experience in a professional or academic setting
? Excellent project management experience with demonstrable commercial
awareness with regard to costing of projects and their business impact
? Experience managing and maintaining department budgets
? Strong demonstrable research and report writing skills, with specific experience in research methodologies and their implementation
? Excellent marketing metrics design and statistical analysis experience
? Understanding of SEO, SEM and online advertising methods and models
? Demonstrable campaign development experience with management of creative agencies
