Daily Responsibilities

• Audio typing and transcribing of letters and reports
• General administration including paper and electronic filing and opening, maintaining, closing and archiving files
• Entering new client details into legal software
• Receiving telephone calls to firm, contacting clients and third parties
• Diary management for the Principal Solicitor
• Organise travel and make accommodation arrangements
• Assist with other activities such as marketing, business development and events

Essential Key Skills:

• Previous experience as a legal secretary - essential
• Reliable and punctual work record
• Excellent Computer literacy (especially in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint and digital dictation packages)
• Working knowledge of employment law
• A confident and assured telephone manner
• Ability to deal with confidential matters in a professional manner
• Motivated and proactive manner and ability to work on own initiative
• Accuracy and attention to detail within written documents produced
• Flexibility in assisting others within the firm
• Meeting deadlines

Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham
Hours: 10am - 2pm, Monday - Friday
Salary: £18,000 - 21,000 pro rata
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days including bank holidays
