The Organisation:

The Green Recruitment Company is working with a rapidly growing company in the renewable energy industry. They are well known nationally for providing clients with measurable and sustainable solutions specifically in the wind market. The organisation is looking for a Planning Officer to play an integral part in their growth aspirations and contribute to future successes in the South-West region.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Deliver monthly planning approval volumes , approval ratios and decision timings within the region
• Negotiate locally determined planning policy on specific matters of siting criteria, planning guidance or policy.
• Track and project manage the planning pipeline at all stages (pre-application to approval). Identifying and resolving issues which may arise.
• Supply planning outcome forecasts and reporting as required.
• Liaise with key personnel within local community and planning regime – building on stakeholder database for contact purposes.
• Work closely with head office planning team to improve the overall process and quality of our planning criteria and submissions, including technical and issues of material concern and DAS input.
• Support the general manager to develop brand awareness and attend trade, networking and promotional events as required.
• Attend and influence to a positive outcome, committee meetings, appeals, pre-applications, parish council meetings as necessary and prepare concise and well-reasoned dialogue to support each case.
• Assist to develop the site assessment process, willing to share knowledge and coaching sales teams to improve results.

Experience and skills:

• Applicant would ideally be educated to degree level
• Member of the RTPI – chartered desirable
• Target driven with good team working skills.
• Applicant must have worked in a commercial environment/role,
• Excellent organisation and project management skills, with an understanding of relevant processes.
• Exceptional drive and enthusiasm to reach goals when under pressure.
• Good interpersonal skills and a confident communicator able to build relationships internally and network effectively externally.
• Solid negotiating skills, allowing applicant to successfully resolve challenges with good time management skills to complete tasks effectively.
• Comfortable around the technical aspects of the job, adhering to high standards on quality and accuracy
• A person who is shows integrity and is personable is essential to fiitng in with this company
