Our client is a subsidiary division of one of the UK's most prominent provider of consultancy services. This division has grown rapidly, is a key asset and is strategically crucial for the wider group to achieve its 5 year business plan. The business is extremely well placed through its expertise and reputation to treble in size over this period. The Commercial Director's role has been newly created to develop the business, capitalise on the market opportunities and will be integral to the driving of such ambitious growth. The division provides cutting edge products and services to a client base that is predominantly in the technical engineering, chemicals and healthcare sectors.
Reporting to the Group CEO, the role of the Commercial Director will be extremely varied, challenging and possess many opportunities. This is very much a 'client facing' commercial role and outlined to follow are the key responsibilities of the position:
P&L ownership for the division and the leadership of a team of 4 direct reports and 15 indirect employees.
Continued development of the divisions strategy and leading the execution of the business plan.
Leading by example the nurturing and development of the customer base through consultative relationship management.
Development and evolution of the product pipeline to ensure it fits with customer demand and market opportunities.
Ownership and guidance over all business development activities to ensure the business meets its profitable growth plans.
Candidates will already be in a leadership position and this role will suit those who have 'customer focused and service orientated commercial experience. They will be able to point to a track record of successfully growing business's and delivering on revenue targets. The Commercial Director will relish the breadth of opportunities afforded by the role and the autonomy that is associated with the leading the division. Candidates will have significant customer facing experience and will enjoy taking the 'lead' on many high profile relationships. Strong product knowledge gained from a career in the chemical, engineering, healthcare, life sciences or pharmaceutical sectors (s) is essential. With a national customer base the role can be located anywhere in the UK but regular travel to the north west head office will be required. Longer term progression and opportunities to move to a more senior position also exist within the Group.
