Social Entreprise Caf Manager
Following an exciting new partnership between HMP Send and our client RAPt, they are currently recruiting for a unique opportunity to appoint a Social Enterprise Café Manager to run ‘Serving Thyme’; a café that will provide life-changing opportunities to women prisoners by offering them the chance to learn and develop new skills in catering, customer service, and hospitality. The café is set to open for trading in April 2017, following a refurbishment of the premises located in HMP Send near Ripley in Surrey. The café will be open to visitors and prison staff, as well as the general public.
The Café Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the café, including managing and developing a team of staff, monitoring and reporting on stock, sales, and records, managing the café budget, and promoting the café brand by actively connecting with the local community. The role is available full-time, including some evening and weekend work, or as a job share.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role within the food industry; including previous experience of managing a team, budget management, stock control, excellent customer service skills, and previous experience of community liaison and promotion. You must also demonstrate a commitment to RAPt values, and be passionate about providing learning and development opportunities to vulnerable adults.
Experience of building partnerships with the local community, marketing strategy development, and organising events would also be advantageous.
Applications from candidates with a social work or criminal justice background will be considered, and applications from candidates who are themselves in recovery will be particularly welcomed.
