Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity with one of our multi-national partners who require a field service engineer on a permanent basis.The main purpose of the role is to maintain the POS equipment on the customer sites that they are responsible for, this can include anything from performing installation to break-fix engineering.Successful candidates will be provided with a van and there is the opportunity for both overtime and rota payments.

The role will involve the following activities:

  • The maintenance of POS equipment at the customer’s facility to ensure full functionality.
  • The repair of front office EPOS equipment and their peripherals where required.
  • Maintaining contact with the customer, helpdesk, and the appropriate chain of command regarding the progress of work being carried out.
  • The completion of all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • The maintenance of serviceable service spares
  • The return of faulty equipment to the repair centre in accordance with company procedure.
  • The ability to manage work in order to meet the customer’s needs.
  • The escalation of any outstanding issues through the correct channels.
  • Any other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.

Key skills required

  • Excellent commutation (both written and verbal) and customer facing skills.
  • At least 12 months of break-fix experience.
  • Ability to work both on own autonomy and as part of a team.
  • Experience within an EPOS environment,
  • The ability to think logically and clearly.
  • The ability to work in a highly pressurised environment whilst remaining calm and professional.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work alternate weekends.
  • Smart and professional appearance.
  • Full clean driving licence.
