Digital Strategy Director - The Agency

Digital Strategy Director - The Role

The purpose of the Digital Strategy Director role is to ensure the agency is leading the industry in digital thinking and execution as a key part of is integrated communications planning. Additionally, the role is involved in creating and leading new solutions outside of paid media to inform, complement and deliver more holistic benefits to clients. The Digital Strategy Director will report into the Managing Partner Digital, and support them in driving digital excellence, growth, innovation and thought leadership. By working with planners and strategists alike the Digital Strategy Director will inject strong digital thinking into existing client delivery as well as new business pitches.

Digital Strategy Director - Key Responsibilities

Write Digital Strategy direction for the agency in an increasingly complex and fragmented media environment
Become a champion of Paid Owned and Earned planning and help develop the agency's new positioning, operational process and capabilities in the UK
Support Digital Directors in delivering digital strategy on campaign, annual planning and digital roadmaps on their clients
Upskilling of planning community in audience data planning, usage of digital tools for planning and insight, sharing of case studies and scale application of innovation across accounts
Consistently drive the use of a variety of data sources to validate planning, test new ideas and prove performance
Push the bigger media owner partners on developing something unique with the agency
Lead by example with innovation in media, technology and digital thinking
Develop digital thought leadership agenda and events to showcase agency capability
Development of proprietary models to measure human experience delivery and digital maturity

Digital Strategy Director - Required Skill / Experience

Understanding of the paid, owned and earned ecosystem and experience in leveraging and optimising a brand experience within this
A strategic and big-picture thinker, grounded in analytics and optimisation, able to uncover strategic insights that can help create, shape and transform overall client (digital) strategic direction through a media strategy and communications plan.
Experience briefing a team of specialists and the ability to bridge planning and specialist execution.
Someone who can clearly, simply and convincingly articulate the role digital channels play in the marketing landscape, contextualize the value of digital for overall client business goals and explain sometimes complex thinking in simple language.
A forward thinker that can anticipate trends and build foundations to leverage opportunities as well as anticipate client needs
You will have an opinion on key trends and where the market is going and more important how the agency can support clients in leveraging them for their business
You will be a strong digital practitioner, with experience gained from within a media agency or digital specialist agency.
Natural curiosity and desire to help clients achieve goals
Commercial, naturally driven and high energy to constantly rise to the challenge
You are a self-starter, keen to help others develop client value from digital, visible to the wider team, inspirational yet approachable
You will be confident in presenting both internally and externally
You will be keen to play a part in the wider vision of the organization and take the lead on all things digital
