A leading welfare to work provider are looking for experienced facilitators and trainers with either a health improvement, lifestyle and wellbeing or healthcare background.
The role is will be on a part time basis, approximately 18 hours per week and will be a fixed term contract for 12 months
The role will involve delivering training across a wide variety of locations across Surrey, however travel expenses will be covered.
You will be part of a team delivering the pioneering National Healthier You Programme to people identified as being at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.
The programme involves delivering an accredited evidence based course of sessions to referred patients promoting and facilitating behavioural and lifestyle changes.
We require a variety of sessional roles to ensure the programme delivers morning, afternoon and evening sessions.
Training will be provided before starting and your time to attend training will be paid.
? To deliver the Healthier You curriculum to participants in an area, ensuring participants achieve and experience the right learning outcomes
? Facilitating group sessions effectively and ensuring the required number are delivered each month.
? To work as part of a team to effectively deliver the Healthier You sessions according to the curriculum and using the appropriate resources.
? To manage group dynamics and support collaborative working
? Adhere to organisation programme policies, including participant confidentiality and rights to privacy, safety and dignity at all times
? To participate in peer to peer personal development and reflection by giving and receiving feedback on performance as an Educator
? To be prepared to study using development workbooks, curriculum and training materials and preparing for sessions
? To carry out self-evaluation after delivery of every Healthier You education course
? To participate in the Healthier You Training and Quality Development Framework.
Must be a car owner, have a clean driving licence and able to store the materials required to deliver the sessions.
? Previous experience of facilitating group training and workshops, ideally in preventative health, public health or health awareness
? Some knowledge and awareness of and an interest in diabetes
? Effective communication skills: written and verbal
? Outstanding training, educational and presentation skills; being able to develop a good rapport with participants
? Demonstrate respect and value the contribution of others as trainers, educators or participants
? Motivated to encourage others and act as a champion to support the improvement of their health and wellbeing
? Ability to act as a team player and to work within a group setting
? Motivation and commitment to fulfill responsibilities
? Demonstrate commitment to ongoing personal development with the ability to self-evaluate activities and accept, give and build on feedback
? Abide by confidentiality at all times
? Registered healthcare professional, employed by a healthcare organisation or currently providing diabetes care
? A relevant City and Guilds Level 3 Health Trainer or equivalent NVQ and/or relevant Public Health qualifications i.e. Association for Nutrition and Exercise Professionals Reps Level 3 or 4.
? Physical activity qualification
? Formal training related to teaching, counselling or group leadership
? Attended/observed an Expert Patient Programme (EPP) or similar course
? Undergraduate degree in a health or counselling subject (health psychology, public health, nutrition and exercise science, health promotion, nursing)
