You will be managing the classified department across 2 profitable consumer titles. Organisational skills are key to this role.
A sales role within the Commercial Department focused entirely on selling classified advertising into the portfolio of 2 well known household magazines.
CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS·To be personally responsible for generating maximum classified advertising into 2 Publishing Titles where and when needed. One is working within the retail sector and the other on a health title!·To pro-actively sell to existing and potential advertisers within allocated territories/ client base·To hit, and aim to exceed, pagination and revenue targets for each issue of each title·To sell within set yield targets and to only accept under yield advertising with the approval of the line manager·To meet closing deadlines and ensure that all required production materials are supplied on time·To ensure that all ad positioning and production requirements are accurately communicated to the production team.·To be familiar with the current sales stories of each title and to communicated the benefits to existing and potential advertisers to secure maximum revenue·To prepare targeted sales collateral using the latest data to provide to advertisers as a sales tool·To monitor all competitor titles plus all other relevant media that can provide sales leads·To portfolio sell i.e. to encourage advertisers to invest in as many of our client's titles as possible within the portfolio·To be fully informed at all times about the classified advertising position of each magazine and be able to feed back that information to management as required·To attend work events as required
REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES·Proven sales experience preferably in magazine classified sales across a portfolio·Projecting a self-motivated, resilient, energetic and pro-active demeanour·Ability to solve problems at operational level whilst seeking support on larger issues·Willingness and ability to adapt positively to changes in the work environment and assume new responsibilities·Ability to problem solve and deal with difficult customers·Possessing a mature, positive and professional attitude·Good attention to detail and accuracy when working with numbers and proof checking·Strong and thorough admin skills·Willingness to work as part of a team and to offer support where required
