A respected residential builder who providing high quality building services is searching for Assistant quantity surveyor to join the company.
Its traditional ethos and expert craftsmanship has built a reputation for high class refurbishments and renovations of country homes, as well as period town houses and listed properties. The company also constructs bespoke new houses for private clients, both contemporary and traditional in style.
SUMMARY OF THE POST:
To assist the Senior Surveyor and members of the commercial department in managing all costs relating to building projects, saving money where applicable but still maintaining quality of work.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To keep a tight control of potentially high numbers of variations on a large number of on-going projects, assisting site managers and contracts manager in recording all variations, pricing them and accurately recording their effect on final account.
Participate in the calculation and preparation of all company valuations and final accounts.
Assist with the preparation and presentation of monthly job cost analysis data.
Analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.
Organise, order and manage subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management.
Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance projects.
Assist in establishing a clients requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
Liaison with Accounts Departments to ensure cash flow for forthcoming monthly payment certificates.
2 years experience working as a Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
HNC or Degree qualified.
Good understanding of traditional building methods and products associated with the refurbishment of listed buildings and up-market period houses.
Strong numeracy and financial management.
