Production Planner - Southampton - £23,000 - 12 Month FTC

Excipion is currently working with a world renowned FMCG manufacture. Based in more than 5 European countries our client is looking to recruit a Production Planner on a 12 Month Fix Term Contract for their team in Southampton.

The Production Planner will support the sourcing and coordination of machinery for the factories across EMEA in order to produce product. You will need to analyse the capacity in the factories, understand what the demand is and ensure they have enough machinery to produce the required product. You will need to have an understanding of production machinery and technologies, which machines can do what and how they work.

As Production Planner you will provide regional support to the source change activities within Operations ensuring the defined NPI governance for Production Tranfers projects is followed. You will also be tasked with carrying out the initial phases of evaluation for source changes and build business cases for approval through Sales & Operational Planning process. Analytical skills are also very important for this role, you will be required to manage multiple sources of data in order to maintain an up-to-date list of SKUs being transferred with all relevant details of information providing the appropriate visibility of upcoming changes

The successful candidate will come from a Production Planning or Production Scheduling background, ideally within a structured, focussed and dynamic industry. You will not need to be an engineer but you will need an understanding of production machinery and technologies. It is essential to have strong project management skills, with desired knowledge of PRINCE2 project management principals, strong interpersonal and communication skills are also essential. Profound analytical and planning skills with excellent attention to detail is also required. It is desirable to have detailed understanding of supply chain processes including material, product and stock ordering policies. Finally, you will need to have a detailed understanding of the systems that support supply chain and product change processes, for example SAP.
This position is likely to suit a Production Planner or Distribution Planner or Supply Chain Planner or Demand Planner or Inventory Planner or Materials Planner.
