Your new role
A Transport Modeller/ Planner specialising in SATURN modelling joining the transport planning team dealing with strategic and micro-simulation modelling, scheme appraisal, development planning/control, business cases, and a variety of related topics. You will be required to contribute to transport modelling and forecasting studies and the assessment of scheme impacts, including environmental, operational and economic appraisals . There is also the opportunity to contribute to the Transport Planning team through other inputs such as data analysis, survey planning, economic appraisal, business cases etc.
Tasks will include analysing traffic data and presenting other data such as geometry, accidents and bus routes. Delivering technical reports and keeping up to date with development in areas of professional expertise. You will be required to actively contribute towards other duties across the Business Unit an engage with senior members of staff to confirm scope of work, timescales and budget expectations.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience in using SATURN modelling software in a work or project environment. Numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering or a related subject is essential. Be proficient in Word, Excel and be confident of working independently with minimum supervision. You should have a clear understanding of UK Government transport planning policies and guidance including WebTAG and DMRB (essential). You will have the ability of working in a team environment in undertaking modelling and appraisal projects. You should have the ability in drafting technical notes and create solutions to complex modelling issues.
What you'll get in return
