Area Sales Manager – Plumbing & Heating

Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Plumbing & Heating

Industry Sector: Independent and National Plumbing & Heating Merchants, Social Housing, Housing Associations, Local Authorities, M&E Consultants, M&E Contractors, Architects and other Specifiers

Area to be covered: London (Inside M25)

Remuneration: £35,000-£40,000 + £6,000 Bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed Car & Full Benefits

The role of the Area Sales Manager Plumbing and Heating will involve:

·Field sales position, selling water treatment, filters, chemicals and scale reducing heating and plumbing solution that cleans and protects central heating systems

·Stimulating demand on domestic projects with social housing, local authority and housing associations

·Stimulating demand on commercial projects with M&E consultants, M&E contractors, architects, hotels, schools, hospitals prisons etc (anyone with a big boiler)

·75% domestic projects, 25% commercial projects

·60% demand generation position, 40% managing plumbing & heating merchant customer base

·Account developing a customer base of circa 5 independent plumbing & heating merchants (circa 20 branches) and 100+ further national plumbing & heating merchants (predominantly PTS, Plumb Center and Plumbase)

·All revenue 100% back-sold through plumbing and heating merchants

·Revenue target of circa £40,000 per month

·New area created through growth (reducing our field sales representatives areas)

·Trade show events, marketing, merchandising and operational management

·Proposal writing, negotiating terms and implementing contractual agreements

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Plumbing and Heating with:

·Proven field sales track record within the plumbing & heating sector

·Ideally with experience of selling to plumbing & heating merchants, contractors and end users

·Appreciation of boilers and how central heating systems work

·Contacts within social housing, local authority and housing associations, M&E consultants, M&E contractors, architects, hotels, schools, hospitals prisons etc not essential but may prove useful

·Preferably sold plumbing, heating, HVAC products such as boilers or sanitary ware

·Back selling experience through plumbing and heating merchants

·Experience managing a budget

·Persuasive with good negotiation skills

·Strong in prospecting, closing and growing business accounts

·Resilient in nature
