Initial 6 Months Contract

Global Architectural and design practice have an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled communications assistant.

    The role;

    The Communications Assistant is a key role within this Communications team. The broad aim of the role is to assist and support the development of a strong, proactive communications team, facilitating the smooth operation of the Practice’s communications function and flow of information to prospective clients, press and public.

    The Communications Assistant will need to work closely with the Communications team, Directors, Associate Directors and Associates, so good interpersonal skills and the ability to foster good relationships with all concerned are vital.

    The position reports to the Head of Communications and will be working closely with all Communications team members.

    The main purpose of the job role:

    To assist in the smooth operation of the communications function and flow of information outward to prospective clients, press and the general public.

    Main Duties:

  • Bids

  • Support the Bid Coordinator in producing and delivering bids

  • Assist with printing, filing and archiving of bids and company information

  • Awards

  • Assist with the preparation of awards submissions

  • Events

  • oSupport and assist with the planning, organisation and management of internal, external and public events

  • Support the organisation and management of the spring conference, summer research visit and Christmas party

  • Assist with coordination of award jury visits and attendance at award ceremonies

  • Partnerships

    Assist the Partnerships role in coordinating material and liaising with partner organisations

    Support involvement with key external organisations and annual events such as Open House London, New London Architecture and the London Festival of Architecture

    Support to other members of the Communications team as required

    Job Requirements:

  • Excellent IT skills, including good working knowledge of InDesign, together with Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Excellent administration skills, well organised and highly motivated

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

  • Keen attention to detail and design sensibility

  • ·Ability to work using own initiative - working well without close supervision

  • Flexibility and willingness to tackle a variety of duties and learn new skills

  • Effective team player

  • Some occasional flexibility in hours may be required for assisting with events.
