Project Manager - based in Central London

Paying up to £50,000 per annum + great benefits - 6 to 8 months fixed term contract

You will be working for a FTSE 250 Wealth Management business in the City of London as a Project Manager covering maternity for 6 to 8 months.

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for the delivery of 1 medium to large project following the standard Change delivery methodology

  • Responsible for running the Small Enhancements Group following a cut down version of the standard Change delivery methodology

  • Assist on 1-2 large projects alongside a Project Manager or Head of Change

  • Assist with some team admin (very minimal)

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to run small multiple projects concurrently

  • 3rd party supplier management and delivery

  • Agreeing project objectives

  • Organising various personnel working on a project

  • Making sure that all the aims of the project are tracked and met

  • Making sure the quality standards are met

  • Representing the client's or organisation's interests

  • Using IT systems to keep track of people and progress

  • Self-starter with a willingness to research in order to deliver the best set of outcomes

  • Successfully execute the project to agreed schedule, budget and scope

  • Perform the relevant project management processes - i.e. initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and close, and the supporting processes e.g. scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication, stakeholder management

  • Plan the project based on a defined need - results in detailed scope/budget/schedule baseline

  • Monitor and control the work to ensure that the project remains on track and in control

  • Report on variances to the approved project baseline

  • Close the project to formalise acceptance of the project result and release project resources

  • Communicate with project team, management and stakeholders

  • Manage project work and resources to enable successful and timely completion of the project

  • Performs gate reviews and quality assurance reviews with sponsors

  • Delivery of projects aligned to overall business and technology strategies and architectures

  • Work within defined governanceprocesses

  • Support development of business cases with the business sponsors

Minimum experience

  • At least 12 months proven project management experience or currently working as a Junior Project Manager

  • Wealth Management knowledge

  • Knowledge and use of industry-standard project methods, tools and techniques e.g. RAIDS, budget, communication
