We have an exciting new opportunity for two Financial Reporting Analysts to join a highly regarded, internationally regonised educational institution. You will be supporting the Senior Management Accountant in the Financial Analysis team with consolidation, forecasting and budgeting. This is a 2 month temporary role, ideally leading to permanent which would then be offering you extensive benefits, including generous holiday allowance.

Scope of the role:

  • Production of the corporate finance budgets and twice yearly reforecasts which will be consolidated into the organisation
  • Review and manage the central payroll upload and reconciliation
  • Assist in the preparation of the consolidated budget and associated commentary for SMT and Finance Committee
  • Assist in the preparation of the period end analysis and reporting for the organisation, for SMT, Finance Committee and other senior audiences as appropriate
  • Prepare and reconcile month end suspense accounts and the research ledger
  • Analyse and review student number and staff headcount data for the establishment
  • Support the Financial Accounting team in the production of the Annual Financial Statements and HESA returns
  • The provision of ad hoc analysis and analytical review as required in a clear and timely manner
  • Developing a good working relationship with school, professional service and subsidiary company management accountants to gain an understanding of their activities and to offer a professional Finance function
  • Developing a good working relationship with school, professional service and subsidiary company management accountants in order to share best practice and to develop new systems and processes
  • Such other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as may be assigned by the Senior Management Accountant

Essential attributes and skills:

  • Experience of working in an educational institution is highly desirable
  • Fully qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Educated to BA/BSc degree level
  • Experience of reconciliation and data analysis
  • Experience of supervising or managing a small team of staff
  • Outstanding data analysis, forecasting and budgeting experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • A discplined yet flexible approach to working
  • Willing to manage a team as well as work autonomously at times
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise
