Reed Accountancy Colchester are delighted to be working with a locally based client looking to recruit a Finance/Administration Assistant intially on a 12 month contract. This role would suit a bright enthusiastic person who would become a integral part of the team. Applicants must be looking for a career in accountancy, be numerate, adaptable with the confidence to handle a wide variety of tasks with attention to detail.

As a core member of the business you will be required to;

• Support Finance Manager with annual accounts, their preparation and submission.
• Posting of cash to IT system
• Reconciliation of Stock with IT systems
• Processing and despatch of sales invoices to customers
• Raising customer statements and chasing payment by email and telephone
• Process of supplier invoices on to IT system and payment using online banking
• Reconciliation of Intercompany invoices and payment using online banking
• Liaise with parent company on Company business.
• Support Finance Manager with monthly management accounts
• Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of phased revenue budgets, forecasts and longer term plans.
• Processing of Monthly Expenses
• Processing of Intrastat returns
• Booking of Staff travel arrangements (Flights, Hotels, Car hire etc.)
• Carry out spare parts quotes and order administration.
• Liaise with customer base on spare parts requirements.
• General Administration within Sauer UK
• Assisting any other areas of the business.

The Ideal candidate will have;

• Previous accounting experience, possibly AAT
• Good level presentation and report writing skills.
• Strong technical skills with knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, attention to detail required and the ability to provide support to all colleagues in UK and Germany.
• Working independently and within a team. We are a small team and a willingness to undertake a wider remit of duties from time to time is important.
• Good working knowledge of Sage Line 50 (confident to use other systems as change of system is imminent) and Excel spreadsheets.

Additional Information


• Normal working hours: 20-25 Hours a week
• 25 Days holiday including Bank Holidays (Based on full time hours, part-time is pro-rata)
• This is a salary based position and extra hours may be required on occasions.
• Use of own vehicle due to office location
