Based on the Herts/Cambridgeshire border this company provides maintenance and repair services to industrial machinery and test equipment users.Customers include many blue-chip companies in the aerospace and manufacturing industries.Following a steady growth in business, they now have a vacancy for an electronics biased Field Service Engineer/Technician

Responsibilities:

* You will be required to travel the UK and also overseas to install and
maintain industrial testing equipment, occasionally at short notice
* You would also carry out preventative maintenance on customer sites in
accordance with the recommended procedures
* Be expected to fault find and problem solve down to sub-assembly level in
the field and in house
* Familiarise and observe all Health and Safety rules and regulations during
working hours.
* On occasions be prepared to work in excess of the normal 37.5 hour week or
anti social hours whilst observing contractual obligations.

Applicant Requirements:

Applicants should be educated to a minimum NVQ level 2/BTEC in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent. An HNC/HND in a relevant subject would be a distinct advantage.

* Proven experience in working in some or all of the following areas are
essential: industrial electronic systems, mechanical fitting, fault finding
to sub-assembly level.
* Experience of industrial plant maintenance would be an advantage.
* Strong engineering background including electro-mechanical knowledge
* This is a very hands on role so you need to be able to use your own
initiative to carry out the level of work required.
* Knowledge of electronics / software an advantage
* Problem solving / analysis skills
* Willing to work overtime.
* Able to work under pressure.
* Good Team player.
* Must have valid passport and hold a full valid UK driving license.
* The successful candidate must be flexible as you will be required to
travel, with as little as 24 hours' notice,
