Reed Business Support in Chelmsford are currently recruiting for an experienced Venue Manager to join a country wedding, hotel, and conference venue near Maldon in Essex.

The main purpose of the role is to provide operational support within the venue, as well as maintaining a fantastic delivery of service at all times.

Main duties will involve:

• Ensure all services are opened and fully operational at scheduled times, whilst maintain high standards throughout the service
• Constantly delivering exceptional levels of customer care and satisfaction
• Ensure that all the specific details of individual functions are applied and delivered with excellent customer service
• Ensure that a consistent level of customer service is maintained at all times, deliver on key performance indicators and a range of quality food and beverage products in a clean and professional environment
• Daily briefing of all duty managers
• Cash control, floats and tills reconciled, sufficient provision of floats and safes properly maintained. Ensure all financial controls and procedures are complied with. Ensure cashing up is carried out at agreed times and banked in a timely manner
• Effective management of all stock and ancillary goods, ordering these items as required from nominated supplies, ensuring compliance with stocking policies. Ensure that stock is kept securely and safe as well
• Weekly meetings with Business Development manager to ensure all functions are managed to exceed guest expectations
• Regular inspections of all bedrooms to ensure that maintenance and cleaning standards are exceeded
• Ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained in the main venue and associated area, supported by a cleaning schedule
• Ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a clean, safe and hygienic order, identifying hazards and problems and seeking solutions. Liaise with external catering contractors to ensure kitchen equipment is serviceable and maintained
• Work in a safe manner in order to minimise hazards so that safety to other staff and customers is maintained and report all safety hazards. Follow all health and safety, fire and building regulations
• Ensure that the venue is run in a safe, orderly and disciplined manner. Review and update risk assessments, ensuring staff understand. Report any incidents in the duty log

Similar industry experience is essential. The salary for this position will be £20,000 – £25,000 depending on experience.
