Our client specialises as a principle or sub-contractor to a wide range of contractors from building, signalling and M&E disciplines. They have a diverse international supplier base with access to first-rate technology. This allows them to have freedom in their design approach and the ability to optimise client requirements with engineered solutions for the rail industry. They are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their London team.
As the selected Mechanical Design Engineer you will be working on an initial 5 month contract working on a London Crossrail projects. Using relevant software you will be responsible for producing detailed designs for different stages of the project, therefore excellent analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for this role. You will liaise frequently with the design team to coordinate designs that are technically compliant and consistent with quality standards. You will also be responsible for assisting in the development and guidance of junior engineers and members of staff where necessary.
· Previous experience in a similar position and relevant qualification
· Experience working on Crossrail projects
· Construction detailed design experience
· Proficient user of relevant design software (Hevacomp desirable)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues
· Good time management and organisational skills to effectively prioritise workload
