Sales Account Manager

Location: London

Salary: £22,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience + bonus

Work hours: Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm; some weekends for trade shows (in lieu).

We have very strong sustainability values and are working towards becoming the most sustainable food manufacturer on Earth. Alara is one of only two independent businesses manufacturing cereals in the UK and employs 55 people.

Our customers are: wholesalers, multiple-retailers, export distributors, food service and brand owners, many of whom have been with us for 20+ years.

Alara owns and manages several brands of organic, gluten free or functional muesli, porridges, granolas as well as superfoods.

The Role

This is an exciting and challenging role, which will require planning as well as hands on approach. You will be working with existing accounts, looking to secure new business and developing new products through private label. You will be contributing to the overall growth of the business. This is an office-based position, however requires some visiting of customers and trade shows.

Key Responsibilities of the Sales Account Manager

- Manage and develop relationships with existing customers
- Grow sales through existing & new channels
- Develop new routes to market
- Respond to inquiries and actively seek new leads
- Taking part in trade & consumer shows

Skills/Experience Required of the Sales Account Manager:

- Relevant work experience, preferably in food industry incl. account management and successful sales to multiple retailers
- Good communication skills
- Able to work well in a team and independently
- Excel literate
- Degree an advantage
