This is an exciting opportunity to use your finance or accounting experience to take the next step in your career and play a key role at the London Borough of Waltham Forest’s most improved school.

As the Academy Finance Manager, you will support and provide financial assistance to the Director of Business, ensuring that routine financial transactions are managed properly and efficiently.

You will be responsible for keeping records and processing arrangements in accordance with the Academy’s financial procedures and requirements. Key aspects of this role will include undertaking analysis of control and management accounts as well as internal control of department budgets. You will also use your financial expertise to assist in preparing the yearly budget and to forecast both spend and expenditure. You will have financial support from a Head Office Business Partner as well as the shared expertise from a large group of Academies.

The ideal candidate may hold an AAT qualification or be studying towards the ACCA/CIMA qualification. You will have an analytical mind and be a self-starter. Previous experience in a school financial setting is desirable but is not essential. It is more important the successful applicant brings energy, enthusiasm and an attention to detail to the role.

Graduates with accounting or finance qualifications (or part working towards qualification) will be considered.

The Academy is located close to the North Circular Road, M11 and both Blackhorse Road and Walthamstow Central underground stations from where it takes about half an hour to get into central London.
