Engineering Development Manager - Food Machinery & Systems

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 pa + Car Allowance, Bonus, Pension & Healthcare

Location: Bedfordshire/ Lincolnshire

The Company

An established engineering firm involved in the design, build and supply of Food production machinery and systems.

The Role

The Engineering Development Manager, will act as the Head of Engineering & Technology for a range of machinery sold around the world to companies involved in the production of Biscuit based products.

They will assess current machinery designs to identify where the company can potentially make adjusts that will improve machinery reliability and production performances for customers, whilst also reducing equipment manufacturing costs.

The Engineering Development Manager will obtain feedback on the existing machinery range, liaise with food manufacturing customers to recognise potential future changes to their production requirements and identify desirable design features.

They will lead machinery development projects that will create new innovative systems that will fulfil current and future manufacturing needs for the global market and ensure the business remains two steps ahead of the competition.

The Engineering Development Manager will support the sales process by reviewing machinery proposals and ensure suggested equipment and designs will be fit for purpose, whilst also offering indirect leadership and support to design engineers and project teams.

The Person

Suitable applicants will have previous experience in the design and development of capital equipment used within Food Manufacturing environments. They will be commercially focused with excellent communication skills and should have a logical and methodical approach when resolving machinery/design problems.
