Group Data Protection Officer with GDPR knowledge - London / Home working - up to £60,000. The Ashdown Group have been engaged by a leading professional services organisation to assist them in their search for a Data Protection Officer to join their successful team.

Reporting into the Group Risk and Compliance Director, the newly created role of Group Data Protection Officer is to be responsible for all information security related risk management, activities, policies, compliance controls and operations.

It is critical that you have knowledge of GDPR as key projects will including leading the preparation and implementation of necessary data protection policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, in preparation for GDPR.

To be suitable for this position you must have experience of:

- Setting and maintaining the Privacy & Data Protection Standards.
- Providing policy advice and guidance to all areas of the business in relation to the Data Protection Act; Privacy & Electronic Communication Regulations; e-Privacy Directive; international data protection guidance and associated matters.
- Creating and maintaining a register of data owners for sets of information and educate the data owners on their data protection responsibilities.

As Data Protection officer you will be the lead contact with all applicable data protection regulators with regard to potential complaints and breaches, ensuring that requests for information are properly handled. You will oversee the subject access requests (SARs) process as well as overseeing the completion of Privacy Impact Assessments.

Ideally you will possess on or more data protection qualifications, e.g. CDP, CIPM or Certified EU GDPR practitioner. It would also be highly advantageous to be fluent in another European language - (German, French o r Spanish preferred).

On occasion you will need to articulate security advice directly to CIO or Director level stakeholders. It is expected that you will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent presentation skills with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

The role will be based in London with home working and some occasional travel. The position offers a salary of up to £60,000 plus additional benefits.
