Bid Writer/Manager - Integrated Service Provider- Specialising in Retail

£50-£60,000 plus Commission

Home Based with easy access to London

The Company -

Our client is a large, award winning Integrated Services company operating within the UK & Internationally.

The Role -

  • Our business development team has the challenging task of identifying strategic business opportunities for the organisation to generate revenue in line with business expectations.
  • This position requires a person who can play a strategic and proactive role within part of a dynamic team who has experience of the bidding and business development environment as well as experience across the whole of the Retail sector focus.
  • This person will contribute to work winning activity through effective and bid management, solution development, bespoke bid writing and control of the bidding processes.
  • This role will see the successful candidate lead and manage all aspects of bids, particularly for the Retail sector, from making the initial contact with the client, through the bidding process until the proposal reaches the site.
  • Furthermore, essential to this role will be managing a team and regularly communicating with client teams and stakeholders involved in the project, therefore strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.

Candidate requirements:

  • Significant experience within a bid team and confidence in all aspects of the bid process
  • Proven experience leading, managing and working within a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients and all stakeholders involved in particular bids
  • Confidence in performing presentations and working with Senior / Board level staff
  • Good time management and organisational skills to prioritise workloads and manage others
  • Ability to identify relevant competitors and opportunities, and manage databases for existing and new client relationships


  • Bid writing – capturing specific and bespoke bid solutions for each opportunity within the submission framework
  • Bid writing – tailoring existing documents
  • Building relationships from within the business to obtain the latest collateral and gaining input into bid responses
  • Attendance at site visits and client meetings as appropriate to the bid process
  • Design and control of response documents
  • Liaising with and coordinating input from central Business Development Support team through management of bid processes
  • Communicating to source information and service developments from other avenues
  • Production of marketing material and case studies for use within proposals and at industry conferences
  • Review and proof-reading process of responses ensuring consistency and that it meets the clients stated aims and objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with tender return instructions and ensuring a complete return
