McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a renowned and fast-growing Accountancy Practice who are city-based and are looking to strengthen their General Practice team and recruit an Audit & Accounts Senior (or Supervisor). With a team of 130 staff and 15 partners, the firm has an enviable reputation across London & Europe for providing a full range of professional services to HNWI’s and their related OMBs and some private PLCs (up to £300m turnover). Depending on experience, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading your own client portfolioand providing advice over a broad spectrum of services including accounts preparation, audit and tax (depending on your specialisation)
  • Dealing with clients on a regular basis and working closely with a number of GP managers on different assignments
  • Managing all aspects of your portfolio - including planning and execution of work, drafting correspondence and billing
  • Allocating appropriate resources to ensure work is completed to a high standard, reviewing work by juniors and giving feedback to junior staff
  • Assisting with any third party queries including HMRC, Investment Managers, Lawyers, Banks and other interested parties
  • Assisting with ad-hoc assignments in relation to the financial affairs of clients
  • Identifying any risk matters and raising them with the Manager/Director whilst exercising judgement within agreed parameters
  • Assisting with business development and marketing, attending networking events with co-professionals

To be considered for the role you should be a fully qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant from another Accountancy Firm with strong portfolio management, client relationship and staff management skills. The position will be made flexible according to the strength of your skill-set in Accounting, Audit and/or Tax, and experience of trusts/estates would be an advantage but not essential. You should be confident dealing with third party advisers, handling HMRC queries, and have strong coaching skills. As their client base is all HNWIs, families and related businesses, you should be very professional, credible, energetic, able to take the initiative with excellent planning, organisational and team working skills.
