The Role

My client is seeking a highly intelligent, self-motivated and energetic Sales Manager, with a task of expanding the sales of their growing Event portfolio through a series of new and existing small-scale regional thought-leadership events. Their Sales Function is headquartered in London with teams in four continents. Last year they generated in excess of £80 million revenue with the majority of this coming from Sponsorship & Exhibition sales.

My client requires an experienced Sales Manager to develop revenues from a series of 7 small-scale regional events and potential additional launches.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sales of a variety of sponsorship packages, to local, regional and global organisations at a senior level

  • Ability to conduct multiple sales campaigns simultaneously across all events.

  • Work in a matrix position within the broader commercial sales function the client

  • Relationship management with existing sponsor companies

  • New Business development and research in all regions for potential sponsors

  • Liaison with marketing, operations, customer service and finance

  • Aid analysis of sales statistics to determine business growth potential

  • Reporting to the Commercial Director for this arm of the business

Key skills and Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 4 year's Experience of Conference & Exhibition sales

  • Proven sales success in an Event sales environment

  • Ability to work in a matrix team structure

  • Ability/experience to manage, develop and deliver multiple sales campaigns

  • Preference for an understanding of the mobile and wider ecosystem

  • A strong understanding of events and the business process required to deliver them

  • Commercially minded with initiative; able to demonstrate creativity

  • Strong networking skill/ability with the attitude to use them as much as it takes

  • A robust attitude and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
