Alex Tosney is recruiting for a SeniorTest Engineer - Catalyst Testing to join a leading speciality chemicals company with expertise in advanced materials and technology. This is a permanent opportunity based in Royston.

As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for supervising R&D testing operations on our state of the art test rigs and manage a small team of Engineers

As a Senior Engineer you will also be responsible for:
· Managing day to day testing operations ensuring that customers' requirements are met and that testing time is optimised through effective and efficient management of the resources at your disposal.
· Managing a small team of Engineers; training, coaching and developing your team, driving personal and professional development, and promoting a positive working environment.
· Providing technical support and guidance to your team and your customers.
· Driving continuous improvement in all areas of laboratory operations.
· Planning and managing short and medium term projects including upgrades to the facility.
· Ensuring that your team and all users of the laboratories adhere to all EHS rules and requirements.

You will have the following qualifications, skill sets & experience:
· Hold a Degree, or equivalent qualification, in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering/ Chemistry or a similar technical discipline.
· Have relevant experience working in a testing environment or in the field of automotive emissions control.
· Have demonstrable experience of managing staff, including performance management and personal development of your employees, and of managing and developing successful and cohesive teams.
· Have the ability to interpret and draw conclusions from complex scientific data.
· Be a team player with a proactive and flexible approach to achieving results whilst maintaining excellent quality standards, and have excellent attention to detail.
· Be a competent and confident decision maker
· Have good written and verbal communication skills, with significant experience using IT software packages (MS Word and Excel).
