Our client, a highly regarded asset management firm with a presence across the UK and an outstanding reputation for their discretionary portfolio management proposition, is currently looking to recruit an experienced individual to work with existing clients and generate new business in patch that encompasses parts of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire following the retirement of one of their most established advisers.

The incumbent will inherit a client portfolio of around 150 households. Clients are generally high value and approaching retirement with typical investment sizes between £150,000 and £250,000, although a number of cases are much higher (up to c£500,000). In addition to servicing existing clients, consultants are also expected to possess a commercial focus and identify new business when opportunities arise. The support on offer is first class, with a dedicated technical support function including diploma qualified paraplanners in place at the regional office.

Successful applicants will have a good understanding of investment management, tax mitigation (e.g. IHT planning, trust work etc) pensions and protection planning along with a demonstrable track record of performance against target. In addition, current FCA authorisation for regulated financial planning is essential alongside a Level 4 qualification and Statement of Professional Standing.

The role offers an attractive salary up to £60,000 plus a company car and excellent benefits. There is also and a generous bonus available with advisers targeted on both client retention and new business.
