Business Development Manager

£50,000 plus benefits

The client is a successful and growing company, offering long term facility management services to some of the UKs largest construction and property development corporates. They operate throughout the UK, with long term contracts, and are involved from the initial planning stages to completion of developments and beyond. The business has several Regional Managers in addition to a Head Office team. They wish to strengthen the business development operations, and raise the profile of the business across the UK. The role reports to the Board and works closely with the MD, and is based out of their offices in Hertfordshire.

The company is looking for a practical and commercial business developer, who has an understanding of the property, construction or FM sector. This individual will need to be able research the market, develop potential clients, build the existing Customer Database, and secure new opportunities. You will also need to be a good Account/Relationship Manager, as relationships are long lasting. You will need to be a good communicator, dealing with the general public on occasions, and be comfortable using marketing techniques to raise the profile of the business and target potential clients. This includes having an input into the website, sales collateral, PR and advertising. The business does use agencies for some of these activities, and you will need to coordinate and work with these agencies. Clients are based all over the UK so some travel will be expected.
