Junior Project Manager - 12 month FTC

Maxegan are under instruction from our Global Client, who are currently searching for a Junior Project Manager for an initial 12 month FTC. Based in Colchester, this is a great opportunity for someone to grow into their first Project Management position, or further their experience.

The responsibilities for this Junior Project Manager position include:

  • Provide proactive coordination, administrative service and delivery support to programmes and/or projects
  • Manage the creation and update of programme and project plans as and when required by the programme/project managers
  • Identify where cross project dependencies exist and track, monitor and manage these in support of the programme/project managers
  • Implement agreed regular progress reporting mechanisms for all projects and assist the programme/project managers in the preparation of programme/project status reporting
  • Establish and maintain an information management system adhering to best practice configuration management for both electronic and hard copy
  • Manage and maintain the programme/projects risk, issue and change management practices to assist the programme/project teams in its delivery
  • Fulfil other ad-hoc activities assigned by the programme/project manager to assist with the delivery of the programme/project (e.g. scheduling meetings, setting agenda’s, supporting workshops, minutes/actions training and on-boarding, account set up of project staff etc.)

The key skills and experience required for this Junior Project Manager position include:

  • Someone from a Project Co-ordination / Project Administration background, with at least 2 years' experience
  • Some Project Management experience would be beneficial, ideally with knowledge of PRINCE2 and ITIL
  • Project environment experience within IT
  • Any knowledge of PMO
  • Good communication, planning and time management skills, with the ability to speak, articulate and express ideas and thoughts clearly
  • Good problem solving, negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Customer service orientated
  • Good skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook are essential
  • Remain approachable under pressure
  • Confident, proactive, flexible, self-motivated and a team player with a sense of urgency in addressing and managing day-to-day activities

This position is working for a company with strong growth plans, and there may be an opportunity at the end of the fixed term that a permanent position is offered.
