Principal Fire Engineer
£45,000 to £55,000 + Benefits
London

An award winning consultancy operating within the built environment is looking for a principal fire engineer to join their well-established team in London. In London the company is 150 strong across disciplines. Reporting to the Associate you will be a technically strong engineer capable of running your own team and projects. Candidate will have the chance to work on international projects which will involve some overseas travel. You will be someone who likes to think outside the box and create innovative fire engineering solutions.

Main Responsibilities
* Production of fire engineering design with checking of calculations and specifications that have been drawn up by lower level engineers
* Overseeing a small team of fire engineers
* Project management to ensure budget and time targets are hit
* Attend and chair design and team meetings
* Site surveys to ensure design is installed correctly and any issues are resolved with the contractor
* Provide training and mentoring to lower level engineers

Candidate Requirements
* Degree in Fire Engineering (Masters, desirable)
* Minimum 5 years fire engineering consultancy experience
* Ability to design to BS, European standards and NFPA
* Experience in leading a small team and mentoring lower level engineers
* Strong relationship builder
