About the School - Head of History
This is a vibrant and mixed school that has an intake of pupils from a range of social and cultural backgrounds. The school has been improving under the current head and her dedicated leadership team which saw the school awarded an 'Outstanding' grade at its most recent Ofsted in June this year. The school has seen rising levels of attainment at both KS4 and 5 plus has amazing behaviour throughout from its students who are dedicated to their studies. The school is looking for a Head of History to join from September on a permanent basis. The department is well-run with two experienced teachers and an NQT. History is a popular option at both GCSE and A-Level producing excellent results at both. This is a school with a great teaching and learning environment which means staff turnover is exceptionally low.

About the Role - Head of History
This is an important post for the school that will replace the current retiring Head of History. The successful applicant will be first and foremost an excellent teacher who can engage and inspire his or her students with their passion for the subject. Happy to model lessons for colleagues, someone who is keen to pass on their skills and knowledge is a must. Hard work and dedication is what has led to the improvement at the school so someone who is keen to give their all daily to give these students every opportunity is hugely important. This role will come with ongoing professional development opportunities including management and private study courses that the school will fund. The opportunity for career progression based on performance is excellent. There are fewer better posts available at this level for January!
