In London, there are always companies moving premises, growing their office space, shrinking it, changing it. Wherever there is change, there is business to be done for a commercial property specialist and it’s your job to find those changes.
You’ll be based in the central London office from where you’ll be making calls to senior decision-makers across London and the South East. You will often have information that tells you they’re moving; other times, you’ll be digging around to find that information. When you find it, you need to probe to understand the requirements in detail and then introduce the ways in which you can help them. The next step is to book a meeting for one of your senior team - surveyor, architect, project manager - to visit the company’s offices and meet key people. Once organised and booked, you move onto the next target company.
Keep probing, keep searching, keep calling in a professional and dynamic way and you’ll give yourself the best chance of finding a high proportion of the available work in the market. It’s a competitive market so you need to be good to make your mark.
Experience of property is not necessary - our client can teach you all about that - but they’d really like you to have some experience of selling, particularly over the phone, and preferably selling to businesses (B2B) rather than consumers (B2C).
If you’ve spent the last 6-18 months generating business over the phone, whether cold-calling or speaking to warm leads, we want to speak to you about this role. The attributes needed are:
- Drive and determination to succeed;
- Comfort in approaching senior business people;
- Outstanding communication skills over the phone and in person;
- A willingness to learn quickly and work hard every day;
- Professional manner and positive outlook
On offer is a salary of £21-25,000 plus commission that should take your earnings up to £30,000 in your first year. With uncapped commission, you could earn more in your first year and you’d expect to earn a lot more in your second year. Top earners in this market with experience make a lot of money. A key part of the package is the extensive training you’ll receive. It will help you be successful more than anything else.
