Job Title: Field-based IT Consultant
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Location: Field Base - London (Zone 1) and Hatfield
Contract: Perm, Full Time
Hours: Shifts between 8am and 6pm

The overall purpose of your role is to provide on-site support to loyal customers based in Hatfield and London (Zone 1) and local technical assistance to Level 2 and 3 teams.

The Role (includes, but not limited to);

  • Provide customer helpdesk and desktop support
  • User support and assistance including installation, set up, update, reconfiguration, troubleshooting and fix
  • Provide support on laptops, desktops, mac devices, printers, smartphones, telephony handsets
  • Provide support on Windows 7, Outlook, MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Project, RDP, VPN, Citrix and other standard software
  • Support data residing on end users computer e.g. integrity checks, transfer, restore etc.
  • Data encryption
  • Hardware support including installation, fault diagnosis, parts replacements on laptops, blackberry devices, printers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, UPS etc.
  • WAN support
  • LAN cabling and patch panel support
  • Telephony system support
  • Daily backup checks
  • Security patches, critical patches, malware/virus scan and antivirus updates
  • Regular preventive maintenance
  • Assistance in software and hardware roll-out projects
  • Communication with centralised support (levels 2 and 3)
  • Communication with local IT 3rd parties on an ad-hoc basis

The Person;

  • Minimum A-Level or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) - Windows 7 or 10 (essential)
  • Technical support experience
  • Experience dealing with remote support teams
  • Customer-focused, interpersonal individual
  • Tenacity to ensure each problem is resolved as effectively and efficiently as possible
  • Strong documentation skills
